Creating a promotion sidebar card
Overview
Promotion cards live in the sponsor sidebar and act as soft, ongoing CTAs — "Renew early," "Try our new event," or "Refer a business." Each card supports a title, body, button, background style, priority order, dismiss flag, and active dates.
Before you start
Define the goal of the promotion (signup, click, awareness).
Have the card title, short body copy, and CTA button label ready.
Decide on background style (solid color or gradient) to match the campaign tone.
Step-by-step
Go to Marketing > Communications > Promotions and click New promotion.
Enter the title, body, and CTA button label.
Add the destination URL.
Pick a background style — solid for utility, gradient for high-energy promotions.
Set the priority. Lower numbers display higher in the sidebar.
Mark Dismissible if sponsors should be able to close the card.
Set the active date range and recipient targeting (all, specific, or criteria).
Click Publish.
Tips & best practices
Limit to two or three active promotions so the sidebar stays focused.
Lead with a verb in the body copy — "Renew now," "Browse next year's events."
Use trial-day-range targeting to onboard new sponsors with relevant tips.
Refresh creative monthly to keep the sidebar feeling alive.
