Choosing recipients (all, specific, criteria)
Overview
When you build a broadcast, announcement, or notification, you choose who receives it. Chamberly offers three modes: all sponsors, specific businesses, and criteria-based targeting. Each has its place — pick the smallest accurate audience for the best results.
Before you start
Know what outcome you want — informational, transactional, or promotional.
Have your audience criteria ready (event purchased, tier, first-rights status, total spend).
Be aware that broader sends require stricter unsubscribe compliance.
Step-by-step
Open the recipients section of your broadcast or notification.
Pick All sponsors for chamber-wide announcements.
Pick Specific businesses and select the businesses by name.
Pick Criteria and add filters such as "purchased event = Annual Gala 2026" or "tier = Gold."
Combine multiple criteria with AND logic to narrow further.
Use the recipient count preview to confirm the audience size.
Save and continue with the rest of the message.
Tips & best practices
Default to criteria-based targeting whenever possible — it scales as your sponsor list grows.
Keep "all sponsors" for genuinely chamber-wide news. Overuse erodes trust.
Test your filter by previewing 3–5 names before sending.
For very small audiences, consider a personal email instead of a broadcast.
FAQ
Are criteria evaluated at send time?
Yes. The recipient list is generated at the moment of send, so it's always current.
What happens if a sponsor matches multiple filters?
They receive one email — duplicates are deduplicated automatically.
