Automations overview
Overview
Automations are scheduled or event-driven emails that run without manual effort. You build them once in Marketing > Automations, and Chamberly fires them whenever the trigger condition is met. They are available on the Pro tier and above, and they are perfect for renewal reminders, day-before event nudges, and thank-you sequences.
Before you start
Confirm your plan includes automations by visiting Settings > Billing.
Have your sender email verified under Settings > Email so deliveries are not blocked.
Decide which trigger fits your goal: order placed, event date, all events date, or first rights expiration.
Draft the email subject and body content (or pick a preset recipe to start faster).
Step-by-step
Go to Marketing > Automations and click New automation.
Pick a preset recipe such as "5 days before event" or start from scratch.
Give the automation a clear internal name, for example "Day-before reminder."
Choose a trigger and configure its timing (delay minutes or days before).
Use the block-based email editor to write the subject and body.
Set recipient conditions: all sponsors, specific events, or specific sponsors.
Save as paused while you test, then flip the toggle to Active when ready.
Tips & best practices
Always send a test to yourself before activating so you catch broken merge tags.
Name automations by purpose plus timing so the list stays scannable as you add more.
Use the preset recipes as a starting point, then customize the copy in your voice.
Pause an automation rather than deleting it if you only need a temporary stop.
FAQ
Do automations send retroactively?
No. Triggers only fire for new qualifying events after the automation is set to active.
Can I have multiple automations on the same trigger?
Yes. Each automation runs independently, which is useful for different audiences or different days.
