Using the Image block

Edited

Overview

The Image block adds inline images to your emails. It supports alt text (critical for accessibility), an optional click-through link, and sizing controls so the image renders well on mobile and desktop.

Before you start

  • Recommended max width: 600px (the email canvas width). Taller is fine.

  • Use JPG or PNG. Avoid uploading huge files — emails over 2MB can be clipped by Gmail.

Step-by-step

  1. Drag an Image block into the canvas.

  2. Click Upload image or paste a URL.

  3. Fill in the Alt text field (required for accessibility).

  4. Optionally paste a Link URL to make the image clickable.

  5. Adjust Width and Alignment from the right panel.

  6. Click Save changes.

Tips & best practices

  • Always write meaningful alt text. Email clients with images blocked still show alt text — make it useful.

  • Compress images before uploading. Tools like Squoosh or TinyPNG cut file size in half.

  • Avoid embedding text in images. Real text is searchable, accessible, and translatable.

FAQ

Why do my images appear broken in some inboxes?
Some clients (Outlook desktop) block images by default. Always include alt text.

Can I use animated GIFs?
Yes. Most modern clients support them. Outlook shows only the first frame, so make frame 1 meaningful.
