Editing prices and quantities
Overview
You can change a sponsorship's price or inventory at any time, including after it goes live. Existing orders are not affected — only future buyers see the new values. This article covers when to edit, how, and what to watch out for.
Before you start
You need an org_manager or chamber_staff role
Confirm whether existing orders need any adjustment (they keep their original price)
Step-by-step
Open the sponsorship from the parent event
Click Edit sponsorship
Update Price and/or Inventory
Click Save
How edits affect the system
Price change: New buyers pay the new price. Existing orders keep their original price.
Inventory increase: Adds slots. If status was
sold_out, it auto-flips back topublic.Inventory decrease: Allowed only down to current sold count. You cannot drop below the number already sold.
Tips & best practices
Avoid frequent price changes — sponsors notice and lose trust
If you raise prices mid-cycle, send a heads-up email so existing buyers feel rewarded for buying early
Use coupons (Marketing > Coupons) instead of a price drop when running a short promo
If you are bumping inventory after a cancellation, make sure to also notify any waitlisted sponsors
FAQ
Will existing buyers be charged the new price?
No. Their order is locked to the original price.
Can I drop inventory below what is already sold?
No. The minimum is the current sold count.
What happens if I raise inventory on a sold-out sponsorship?
Status flips back to public automatically.
How do I refund a sponsor at the new price?
Issue a partial refund from the order page — Chamberly does not auto-rebill.
