Recurring events

Edited

Overview

Many chamber events repeat — annual galas, quarterly mixers, monthly luncheons. Chamberly does not have a single "recurring event" toggle. Instead, you clone the prior occurrence and update its date. This keeps each instance independently reportable.

Before you start

  • You need an org_manager or chamber_staff role

  • Identify the source event you want to repeat

  • Decide whether prices, sponsorships, or descriptions need to change for the new occurrence

Step-by-step

  1. Open Sidebar > Events

  2. Find the prior occurrence of your event

  3. Click the three-dot menu and choose Clone event

  4. Update the name (often something like "2027 Annual Gala") and pick the new date

  5. Keep Sponsorships, Benefits, and Image ticked to copy them forward

  6. Click Clone

  7. Review prices, dates, and descriptions on the cloned event

  8. Run Bulk add first rights if you want past sponsors to renew

  9. Flip status to active when ready

Tips & best practices

  • Clone right after the prior event ends, while details are fresh

  • Use a consistent naming convention (e.g., "2026 Spring Mixer", "2027 Spring Mixer")

  • Update prices to reflect inflation — many chambers raise sponsorships 5-10% year over year

  • Use first-rights windows to lock in past sponsors before opening to the public

FAQ

Will Chamberly auto-create next year's event?
Not yet. Manual cloning gives you control over dates, pricing, and lineup changes.

Can I link the new event to the old one?
Not directly, but consistent naming makes it easy to find the series in the Events list.

Should I archive the old event after cloning?
Yes. Archive once the event has happened and reports are final.
