Overview

Featured images are the main visual on event cards, the public event page, and previews in social shares. A great featured image dramatically improves click-through and sponsor confidence in your event.

Before you start

  • You need an org_manager or chamber_staff role to upload images

  • Have a JPG, PNG, or WebP file ready — under 5MB is best

  • Recommended dimensions: 1200x630 (a 1.91:1 ratio)

Step-by-step

  1. Open the event from Sidebar > Events

  2. Click Edit event

  3. Scroll to the Featured image section

  4. Click Upload image and pick your file

  5. Use the crop tool to set the visible area

  6. Click Save

Where the image appears

  • Event card on the public storefront

  • Hero area at the top of the public event page (depending on your event-page styling)

  • Social previews when sponsors share the event link

  • Email previews in event-related broadcasts

Tips & best practices

  • Use a real photo from a past event — stock images feel generic

  • Avoid putting critical text in the image — different layouts crop it

  • Compress your image before uploading — large files slow page loads

  • Keep your subject centered and away from the edges so it survives cropping

FAQ

What if my image is the wrong aspect ratio?
You can crop in the upload dialog. We recommend exporting at 1200x630 from your editor.

Can I have multiple images per event?
One featured image per event today. Add more visuals to the long description using the WYSIWYG.

Why does my image look pixelated on the event page?
Source resolution is too low. Use at least 1200px wide.
