Editing an event

Edited

Overview

You can edit an event at any time, even after it goes live. Most edits (name, description, image, dates) take effect immediately. Some edits (deleting sponsorships with active orders) are blocked to protect existing sponsors.

Before you start

  • You need an org_manager or chamber_staff role

  • Be aware that edits to live events are visible to the public within seconds

Step-by-step

  1. In the sidebar, click Events

  2. Click the event you want to edit

  3. Click Edit event in the top-right

  4. Change any of the editable fields: name, dates, venue, descriptions, featured image, category, status, go-live date

  5. Click Save

What you can and cannot edit

  • Can edit anytime: name, description, image, venue, dates, status, category

  • Can edit with caution: sponsorship prices (does not affect existing orders)

  • Cannot delete: sponsorships that have active orders — cancel orders first or just hide the sponsorship

Tips & best practices

  • If you change the event date, send a notification to existing sponsors — Chamberly does not auto-email them on date changes

  • Use the preview button to check styling before saving big description rewrites

  • Avoid renaming the event after orders exist — sponsors see the original name on their receipts

  • If you need to make extensive changes, clone the event into a draft and rebuild from there

FAQ

Will sponsors get notified about changes?
Not automatically. Use Marketing > Announcements or Notifications to alert affected sponsors.

Can I roll back an edit?
Not yet. We are adding revision history in a future update — for now, take a screenshot before big changes.

Why is the Save button greyed out?
You probably have a required field empty — check for red borders on the form.
